This week I went back to my usual routine of scanning papers. I also got to get to know my co-workers more. My work mom, Audrey, explained that when you work in an union and there is a chance for a job promotion, the bid goes to the person with the most seniority, not the one with the most qualifications. I think that is so unfair for the people who work hard to earn their qualifications. They worked hard for that position and they should get it. I also baked cookies for the office and gave my boss the note. She seemed really happy.

I think that is unfair too! It would make me upset if I had the skills necessary but didn't get the promotion because I am the newbie. I'm glad you're getting to know your co-workers better. I know for me one of the hardest parts was getting comfortable with the people around me. :)

You are right. Typically, the teaching profession is the same way. I was laid off one year, but had highly effective ratings. Life isn't fair. You know this!

That is totally unfair, but each and every job will have pros and cons. I am so glad you're getting to know your co-workers though. I know that makes things much easier. Keep enjoying the internship, Alison!
